Yirminci yüzyılda yaşanan en büyük olay; insanlık tarihini, dünya düzenini,toplumsal hayatı en çok etkileyen hatta ulusların yok olmasına, yeni devletlerinkurulmasına sebep olan II. Dünya Savaşıdır. Bu savaştan etkilenen ülkelerden birde İngiltere’dir. Savaş, yeni bir dünya düzeni kurulmasına ve toplumsal hayattaköklü değişikliklere neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada II. Dünya Savaşı sonrasıİngiltere’de sosyal-kültürel ortam, toplumsal değişim ve bu değişimim toplumayansıması incelenecektir. II. Dünya Savaşı ardından İngiltere’deki mevcut sınıfsistemi alt üst olmuş, yeni hükümetin çıkarmış olduğu ‘refah devleti’, bir diğer adıile ‘sosyal devlet’, yasaları ile toplumun her sınıfına eşit haklar verilmiştir. Ancaksavaşın getirdiği yoksulluk, işsizlik gibi sorunları çözmede bu yasalar yetersizkalmıştır. Sınıf sisteminin ortadan kalktığı, paranın değerinin arttığı, tüketiminin önplana çıktığı bu yenidünya düzeninde toplumun yaşadığı hızlı değişim, belirsizlik vegelecek kaygısı bireyde yabancılaşmaya neden olmuştur. Bu yabancılaşmatoplumda, özellikle gençlerde isyanlara neden olmuş ‘öfkeli genç adam’ gibitoplumsal hareketlere neden olmuştur. Makalede II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası toplumsaldeğişiklikler açıklanarak, bu değişimlerin savaş öncesi mevcut sınıf sistemindeneden olduğu değişiklik açıklanacak ve bu değişimlerin toplumda yabancılaşmayaneden olduğu savunulacaktır. Çalışmada o dönemi anlatan çeşitli kaynaklarincelenerek, bu kaynaklardan elde edilen tarihi, sosyal durum hakkında bilgiler derlenerek aktarılmıştır. Bu bilgiler ışığında bu değişimlerin sınıf sistemindedeğişime ve yabancılaşmaya neden olduğu savunulmaktadır. Yabancı kaynaklardanyapılan alıntılar tarafımdan Türkçeye çevrilmiştir.

One of the most important events occurred in the twentieth century that affected the history of humanity, world’s order and social life, causing the disappearance of many nations and the emergence of many states, is the Second World War. England is one of the countries that was affected by this war. The war caused a new world order and many revolutions in the social life. In this essay, the sociocultural environment, social change and the effects of this change on the society in England after World War II will be studied. After the war, the current class system in England was abolished andnew equal rights were given to all of the classes in society by the new laws of ‘welfare State’ legislated by the new government. But, these new rights were inefficient to solve the problems such as unemployment, and poverty caused by the war. In this new world order class system disappeared, money was appreciated and consumption stood out. This new change, vagueness and fear of the future gave rise to alienation of the individual. This alienation created rebels in the society, especially the youth rebelled, and new movements such as ‘the angry young man’ emerged. In this essay, social differences which are seen in England after World War II will be displayed and how these differences caused a huge change in the current class system will be explored, emphasizing the idea that these changes caused alienation in the society. In this study the social and historical condition of the period is gathered from various sources. In the light of these sources, this essay argues that these social changes caused class system destruction and alienation. All of the quotations taken from foreign sources have been translated into Turkish by the writer.
