Gebelik ve Toksoplazmoz

Toxoplasma gondii major zoonotik paraziter enfeksiyonlardan biri olup insanda genellikle asemptomatik olarak seyretmektedir, fakat konjenital enfekte olan yenidoğanlarda ciddi klinik tablolara neden olabilir. Enfeksiyonun konsepsiyon öncesinde ya da sonrasında edinilmiș olma-sının belirlenmesi oldukça önemlidir. Nadir olmasına rağmen konjenital toksoplazmoz ciddi nö-rolojik ya da oküler hastalıklara, aynı zamanda kardiyak ve serebral anomalilere neden olabil-mektedir. Gebelik döneminde kazanılan T. gondii enfeksiyonlarının fetüse geçiș riski gestasyo-nel yaș ve tedaviye göre değișkenlik göstermektedir. Gebelerin toksoplazma enfeksiyonunun önlenmesi konusunda bilgilendirilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu derlemede gebelik sırasında ka-zanılan toksoplazma enfeksiyonlarının tanısı, tedavisi ve yönetimi ile ilgili güncel bilgiler sunul-maktadır.

Pregnancy and Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasma gondii is one of the major zoonotic parasitic infections that usually causes asymptomatic infections in humans but can cause signifcant disease in congenitally infected infants. Special care is taken to determine whether the infection was acquired before or after conception. Although rare, congenital toxoplasmosis can cause severe neurological or ocular disease, as well as cardiac and cerebral anomalies. The risk of fetal transmission of T. gondii infection which is acquired during gestation is effected by gestational age and treatment. Education of pregnant women about prevention of toxoplasmosis is very important. The purpose of this review is to provide an update on the diagnosis, treatment and management of toxoplasmosis during pregnancy
