Bu araştırmada Çağdaş Fransız yazarı Michel Butor'un ilk romanı Passage de Milan'da nesnelerin, olayların, olguların ayrıntılı betimlemelerinin yapıldığı vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. 12 bölümden oluşan kitapta, Paris'te Milan sokağındaki binada 12 saatlik sürede geçen olaylar anlatılır. Yazar, her bölümde, her sahnede anlatılan eylemlerin, olayların zamanını sıralanmış tekrarlarla göstermek ister. Aynı nesnenin değişik bakış açılarıyla betimlenmesi sonucunda ortaya çıkan bulguların birbirine eklenmesi ya da üst üste konması, parçaların bir araya getirilmesi, sıralanmış tekrarlar, Michel Butor'un betimleme yöntemleridir. Değişken, kopuk, parçalı görüntülerin üst üste konulmasıyla oluşan mozaik yapı mutlak gerçeğin olmadığını ortaya koymaktadır.

In our study we tried to emphasize that detailed descriptions of the objects and the events have been made in Passage de Milan wich is the first novel written by Contemporary French Author, Michel BUTOR. The novel having 12 parts with a theme of events happening in a building located on MilanStreet in Paris last 12 hours, Author tries to teli us the nıoments of each event and action occurred in it s scenes and parts through arranged repeats. Montage, superposition and puzzle of findings occurred due to the descriptions ofsame object according to different viewpoints are the descriptive metod of Michel BUTOR. A mosaic liked structure built on a puzzle of variable, discrete and discontinued visions shows us thefact that there is not an absolute reality.
