İkinci Dünya Savaşı Sonrasında Çağdaşları Arasında Giorgio Bassani

İkinci Dünya Savaşının ardından İtalya'da yazar ve aydınlar yeni bir demokratik toplum bilinci oluşturma ve devlet yapısını yenileme sürecinde bir görev alma gereğini duydular. Böylece, özgürlükçü ve aktif bir kültür bilinciyle ulusun sorunlarına bir çözüm bulabileceklerdi. İdeolojileri ise toplumu devrim yapmaya çağıran, işçi sınıfının hakimiyetini ve ezilen kesimlerin kurtuluşunu hedefleyen, faşizm karşıtı bir ideolojiydi. Giorgio Bassani'nin sanatı işte bu Neorealist ortamda ortaya çıkmıştır. Ancak o diğer neorealist yazarlardan farklı olarak politika ve ideolojiden uzaktır ve yaşadığı kent olan Ferrara'da, kendi gibi Yahudi olan kişilerin, bizzat tanıklık ettiği dramlarını çok yalın bir dil ile yansıtmaktadır ve Yahudilerin bu kötü yazgısının nedenlerine bir yanıt aramaktadır.

Giorgio Bassani After Second World War

After World War II, writers and intellectuals in Italy felt the need to create a new democratic society consciousness and take on a task in the process of renewing the state structure. Thus, they could find a solution to the problems of the nation with liberal and active culture consciousness. Ideologies were an anti-fascist ideology that called for a revolution in society, targeting the domination of the working class and the liberation of the oppressed. This is the art of Giorgio Bassani that emerged in the Neorealist environment. However, unlike other neorealist writers, he is distant from politics and ideology, and Ferrara, the city he lives in, reflects in a very simple language the drama he himself witnesses of Jews like himself and is seeking answers to the causes of this evil fate of the Jews.
