Gen teknik yöntemlerle yeni canlılar meydana getirilmesi ve gıdaların üretilmesinde bu yöntemlerin kullanılmasının yanı sıra genetik incelemeler sonrasında hastalıkların teşhis ve tedavisinde gen tekniklerinin kullanılması, klonlama vs. sorunlar hukuk düzenlerinin de çözüm bulmak zorunda olduğu konular arasına girmiştir. Biyotıp Alanında İnsan Haysiyetinin Korunması Sözleşmesini imzalayan Türkiye’nin hukuken atacağı bir çok adımın da bulunduğu görülmektedir
