Kilikya’da Arkaik Dönem’e tarihlendirilen heykeltıraşlık ürünlerine ait buluntular oldukça sınırlıdır. Az sayıdaki örnek çeşitli müzelere dağılmıştır. Bu eserlerin incelenmesi, Yunanistan ve Batı Anadolu heykeltıraşlık sanatı ile bölgenin sanatsal etkileşiminin açıklanabilmesini sağlayacak niteliktedir. Burada tanıtılacak iki eser, bu kapsamda değerlendirilen, Kilikya’da bulunan ve Arkaik Dönem’e tarihlendirilen ender heykeltıraşlık ürünlerindendir. Eserlerden birincisi çift taraflı (amphiglyphon) bir mezar steline ait anthemion stel tacı; ikincisi ise yine çift taraflı, üzerinde köpeğiyle birlikte betimlenen çıplak erkek figürü kabartmasının yer aldığı mezar stel parçasıdır. Kelenderis kökenli olan her iki parça da M.Ö. 510 yıllarına tarihlendirilmektedir. Bunun yanında bazı stilistik ve teknik nedenlerle, aynı mezar steline ait birleşemeyen iki parça olabilecekleri de akla gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Kelenderis stelleri ile birlikte, Geç Arkaik ve Erken Klasik Dönem’lere ait bazı anthemion’lu ve köpekli mezar stelleri, stilistik ve ikografik açılardan tekrar değerlendirilecektir

Thoughts on Two Reliefs of Archaic Period from Cilicia Findings of sculpture products in Cilicia dated to Archaic Periods are quite limited. Limited numbers of samples have been distributed to the various museums. Examination of this work of arts has capacity to provide explanation of Anatolian sculptural art and artistic interaction of region. The works of arts to be introduced here are the rare sculpture products found in Cilicia and dated to the Archaic Age. The first of the works is the Anthemion Stele Crown of a double–sided (Amphiglyphon) tomb stele; the second one is a stele part that is again double-sided and has a bare man figure with his dog on it. Both Celenderis origin steles are dated to B.C 510. Furthermore, it’s also thought that they might be two uncombined parts of the same tomb stele due to stylistic and technical reasons. In this study, some tomb steles with anthemion and dog belonging to Late Archaic and Early Classical periods will be re-evaluated together with Celenderis steles in respect of stylistic and iconographical aspects.
