Giardia intestinalis ve gaitada total yağ tayini

Giriş ve Amaç: Gaitada total yağ testi çalışılan malabsorbsiyon tanılı hastalar Giardia intestinalis paraziti yönünden incelenmiştir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Gastroenteroloji Kliniğine 2009-2010 yılında başvuran yetmiş beş malabsorbsiyon olgusunda gaitada total yağ testi çalışılmıştır. Hastaların gaitaları parazitolojik olarak incelenmiş, Giardia intestinalis açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Yetmiş beş malabsorbsiyon olgusunun gaita incelemesi sonucu 4'ünde Giardia intestinalis kistleri saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Malabsorbsiyon olgularında giardiasis'in tanımlanabilmesi için gaitada parazitolojik inceleme yapılması ayırıcı tanı için önemlidir.

Giardia intestinalis and fecal fat analysis

Background and Aims: Malabsorption patients in whom fecal fat analysis was performed were also investigated for Giardia intestinalis. Materials and Methods: Fecal fat tests were studied in 75 malabsorption patients who had applied to the Gastroenterology Department of Ege University Medical Faculty in the period 2009-2010. In addition, stools were examined by parasitological methods in terms of Giardia intestinalis. Results: As a result of stool examination of 75 malabsorption cases, Giardia intestinalis cysts were determined in four of them. Conclusions: To identify giardiasis in malabsorption patients, parasitological stool examination in the differential diagnosis is important.
