Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin ağrı deneyimleri ve baş etmede kullandıkları yöntemler

Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin ağrı deneyimleri ve baş etmede kullandıkları yöntemleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak yapılan bu araştırma, hemşirelik bölümünde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, örneklem seçilmeden hemşirelik bölümünde okuyan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul 264 öğrenci ile tamamlanmıştır. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan öğrencilerin yaş, cinsiyet, ağrı yaşama durumları ve baş etmede kullandıkları yöntemlere ilişkin sorulardan oluşan anket formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Pain experience of nursing students and the methods used to cope with pain

Objectives: This research was conducted to determine the pain experience of nursing students and the methods used to cope.Methods: This is descriptive study that it was conducted in the nursing department. Sampling was not used. The study was completed with 264 students who were educated at the nursing department and agrees to participate in the investigation. The data were collected using the questionnaire that was prepared by the researchers. The questionnaire was consisting of questions about the nursing students’ age, gender, pain status and the methods used to cope. Descriptive statistics and chi square test were used to data analysis.Results: It was determined that 76.1% (84.1% of females, 56.0% of males) of the students participating in the study had pain, and 52.7% of them applied to health institutions due to pain. 46.8% (35.6% of all students) of the students with pain who were lost the school days, and 70.6% (53.8% of all students) of the students with pain who had restricted daily life activities. It was determined that the most experienced pain -more in girls- was headache (52.3%), stomachache (42.4%) and low back pain (33%). The use of medication (42.9% in males and 47.8% in females) was higher than the other methods for the pain treatment. Those who stay in the dormitory are more likely to use drugs (58.5%) while not stay dormitory more used to the non-drug methods (47.4%).
