Dental Implant Types and Biomaterials

Oral and dental health is very important in terms of general health and dental diseases are among the most common health problems. Dental implants are cylindrical materials that can be produced from various biomaterials and are used as an artificial tooth root to support the prosthesis made to replace the missing tooth or teeth of the patient. Among the factors affecting the success of dental implant treatment, the quality and biocompatibility of the materials used are very important. Against any damage to the tissue; Surface configuration improvements, inducing tissue and producing a rejection response against inflammation are among the most important qualities of biomaterials. Therefore, purpose of this article is to investigate functions and quality of biomaterials used in dental applications.
