Ankara'da otopsisi yapılmış hükümlü ve tutuklu ölümleri (2001-2004)

Gözaltında ya da cezaevinde meydana gelen her ölüm olayı ister doğal kaynaklı ister travmatik bir ölüm olsun her zaman için kamunun ilgisini çekmekte ve özellikle intihar orijinli olgular ve ölümde travmanın rol oynadığı olgularda dikkatler kötü muamele şüphesine odaklanmaktadır.Bu retrospektif otopsi çalışmasında Ankara Grup Başkanlığı Morg İhtisas Dairesi'nde 2001-2004 yılları arasında otopsileri yapılmış toplam 56 hükümlü ve tutuklu olgusuna ait veriler değerlendirilmiştir. Olguların 50'si (% 89.29) erkek ve 6'sı (% 10.71) kadın olup, olguların % 16.07'sinin hastaneye ölü duhul ettiği, % 8.93'ünün cezaevi revirinde öldüğü, % 7.14'ünün hücresinde ölü bulunduğu, % 66. 07'sinin ise hastanede tedavi altında iken öldüğü.saptanmıştır. Yirmi yaş ve altı olguya rastlanmamış olup, en fazla olgu 41-50 yaş grubunda saptanmıştır. Doğal sebepler olguların 44'ünde (% 78.57) ölüm sebebi olup, iki olguda ası, 1 olguda kesici delici ve delici alet yaralanması, 1 olguda da kunt kafa travması olmak üzere travmatik ölüm sadece 4 olguda (% 7.14) saptanmıştır. Sekiz olguda (% 14.29) ise ölüm orucu sonucu gelişen komplikasyonlar ölüm sebebi olarak belirlenmiştir. Kanser ve komplikasyonları ile kardiyovasküler hastalık kaynaklı ölümlerin doğal ölüm olgularının yarıdan fazlasını oluşturduğu saptanmıştır.

Custody and prison deaths in Ankara (2001-2004)

The occurrence of death while a person is either in the custody of the police, or inmate of a prison raises public interest and particularly in suicidal cases or traumatic deaths there is often an immediate focus on the ill-treatment of the victims. In this study we retrospectively analyzed the autopsy records of Ankara Division of the Council of Forensic Medicine between the years 2001 and 2004 and selected prison and custody deaths. There were total 56 prison and custody deaths. Of these cases 50 (89.29 %) were male and only 6 (10.71 %) were female. The majority of the cases (66.07 %) were determined to die during the treatment period at hospitals where these cases were referred from the prison for treatment. 16.07 % of cases were dead upon admission to the hospital, 8.93 % died at the prison infirmary and only 7.14 % of the cases were found dead in their cells. There was no case aged lower than 20 years old and the most crowded age group was determined to be 41-50 age groups. Natural diseases were the cause of death in 44 (78.57 %) of total 56 cases. Suicidal hanging was the cause of death in 2 cases, blunt head trauma in one case and stab wounds in one case. In 8 cases (14.29 %), death was due to complications related to fatal fasting. Cancer and associated complications together with cardiovascular disease were the cause of death in more than half of the natural death cases.
