Application of progressive relaxation exercises in cancer and treatment process

Progressive relaxation exercises are a common and effective method used in cancer patients to gain a positive life by changing mental processes and behavior to control expected or unexpected symptoms. According to the studies done in the literature; progressive relaxation exercises have a positive effect on psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression, stress and physical symptom such as fatigue, sleep problems, pain. Improvement was also found in patients' quality of life and analgesic use. As a result, progressive relaxation exercises are an effective method on the symptoms that negatively affect the individual's quality of life, physical, psychological and social well-being.
