Diş hekimliği lisans öğrencilerinin hareketli bölümlü protez planlama becerilerinin değerlendirilmesi

Amaç: Çalışmamızda, diş hekimliği lisans öğrencilerinin hareketli bölümlü protez metal alt yapı planlama becerisinin değerlendirilmesinde, klinik eğitim görmeleri ve planlama rehberi kullanmalarının etkisi araştırılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Simüle edilen bir kısmi dişsiz vaka için hazırlanan teşhis modeli analiz edilmiş; sagital ve frontal düzlem fotoğraf görüntüleri hazırlanmıştır. Çalışma; klinik öncesi (4. sınıf) ve klinik eğitim dönemi (5. sınıf) olmak üzere 2 ayrı sınıfta yürütülmüş; çalışmaya; 84 adet 4. sınıf ve 52 adet 5. sınıf öğrencisi dahil edilmiştir. Öğrencilere yöneltilen planlama becerisi sorusu için, planlama rehberi içeren ve içermeyen 2 farklı form hazırlanmıştır. Her iki gruptaki öğrencilerin yarısı tedavi planlaması sırasında planlama rehberi kullanmıştır. Sınav düzeninde, sınıflara alınan öğrencilerden projeksiyona yansıtılan modelin görüntülerini incelemeleri, kendilerine dağıtılan formlardaki tek çene kısmi dişsiz vaka şablonu üzerinde metal alt yapı çizimi yapmaları ve diş teknisyenine çalışmalarıyla ilgili talimat hazırlamaları istenmiştir. Öğrencilerin metal alt yapı planı yapma becerilerinin değerlendirilmesi için bir yönerge hazırlanmış; 5 protez bileşeni için, planlama becerileri; Yetersiz (0), Geliştirilmesi Gereken (1) ve Örnek Çalışma (2) şeklinde derecelendirilmiş; sonuçta her bir öğrenci için beceri skor ortalaması hesaplanmıştır. Dört grupta elde edilen beceri skor ortalamaları 2-yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve t-testi kullanılarak istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Evaluation of removable partial denture design skills of predoctoral dental students

Aim: This study aimed to assess the effect of clinical training and using design guide on the removable partial denture design skills of predoctoral dental students. Materials and Methods: The diagnostic model for a simulated partially edentulous case was surveyed and the photographs of the models were taken from sagittal and frontal plane. For this study clinically inexperienced (4th-year) and experienced (5th-year) predoctoral dental students were involved; 84 of 4th-year and 52 of 5th-year volunteer predoctoral students attended to study. Two different forms; with and without design guide were prepared for the design skill questionnaire and half of the students in both groups used a design guide. Students taken to the classes were asked to examine the images of the models reflected on the projection, to draw a framework design on the partially edentulous jaw template and to prepare instructions for the dental technician. A guideline has been prepared for the assessment of the students' ability of framework design. For 5 prosthetic components, the design skills were scored as 0; Poor, 1; Developing, 2; Exemplary.
