Her sektörde olduğu gibi sağlık sektöründe de yetişmiş muhasebe personeline ihtiyaç vardır. Sağlık sektörü; sektörü tanıyan, mesleki bilgi ve beceriyi kazanmış, alanında yetişmiş muhasebe personeline ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu ihtiyacın karşılanmasında sektörün beklenti ve ihtiyaçlarına göre hazırlanmış muhasebe eğitim ve öğretim faaliyeti büyük önem taşımaktadır. Sağlık sektörü- nün talepleri doğrultusunda hazırlanmış kaliteli bir muhasebe eğitimi ve öğretimi ile bu ihtiyaçlar giderilebilir. Sağlık sektörünün muhasebe eğitiminden beklentilerinin ortaya konulması amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada, Ankara’daki kamu hastaneleri yöneticilerine anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, hastane işletmelerinin muhasebe eğitiminden beklentileri arasında; muhasebe eğitim ve öğretiminin pratik bilgileri de kapsaması, Tekdüzen Hesap Planı’ nın sağlık sektörünün ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak şekilde geliştirilmesi, muhasebe eğitimi alan öğrencilere sağlık sektöründe de staj imkânı sunulması ve okullarda okutulan muhasebe derslerinin içeriğinin sağlık sektörü işbirliğiyle belirlenerek, sağlık sektörünün beklentilerinin daha çok dikkate alınması vb. yer aldığı görülmüştür. 

Health sector requires qualified accounting personnel and demands qualified accounting personnel who knows the sector and who has the vocational knowledge and the ability. Education and training activities designed to meet the expectencies and the requirements of the sector are very important. These requirements can be met by the good quality of accounting education designed by the demands of the health sector. In this research, a survey has been administered to the managers of Ankara public hospitals in order to reveal the expectencies of the health sector from accounting education. The results of the survey show the follwings; accounting education should include practical information, The Uniform Chart Of Accounts should be developed in order to meet the expectencies of the health sector, there should be an internship opportunity at the health sector for accounting students, the content of the accounting courses should be determined by a cooperation between the sector and the academia and the demands of the health sector should be taken into consideration more.
