SONUÇ: Çalışma sonucunda ikinci derece yüzeyel yanıklı vakalarımızda hem epitelizasyon oluşumu hem de enfeksiyon gelişmemesi açısından antibiyotikli pomad kullanımının mutlaka gerekli olmadığı, yalnızca steril likid vazelin kullanılmasının yeterli olduğu görüşüne varılmıştır. OBJECTIVE: The study has been done to compare the impact of using antibiotic pomade and sterile liquid vaseline during the healing process of second degree superficial burn wounds. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The universe of the research was, the patients who were applied for second degree superficial burn injuries. The group was made of 37 randomly chosen patients out of 50 patients who did not have systemic disease, and who did not use antibipticsjately. As a first step of the experiment, tulle gress was placed on the wounded area during the first wound dressing process, and antibiotic pomade was applied to the one part of the wounded area, where as sterile liquid vaseline was applied to the another part and as a result of epitelisation period was observed on both parts. During the evaluation of the results SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) licenced software "z" test was used in order to obtain percentages and differenciation between them. RESULTS: Epitelisation period was compared on the both nitrofurazon pomade & sterile vaseline applied areas, and no specific differentiation statistically worthed was observed (p > 0,05). CONCLUSION: As a result of the experiment, it is decided that antibiotic pomade is not a must for healing second degree superficial burn injuries in order to protect patients from infection or to accelerate epitalisation period, and sterile liquid vaselin is only enough to heal injuries by itself."> [PDF] İkinci derece yüzeyel yanıklarda antibiyotikli pomad (nitrofurazon pomad) ile steril likid vazelin kullanımının yara iyileşme sürecine etkisinin karşılaştırılması | [PDF] The comparison of the impact of using antibiotic pomade (Nitrofurazon pomade) and sterile liquid vaseline during the healing process of second degree superficial burn 0,05).
