Dünyada gelişen turizm sektörü dünya ekonomisinin gidişatı üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olmaktadır. Türkiye'de turizm sektörünün ekonomi üzerindeki rolü son 30 yıldaki küreselleşme rüzgarı paralelinde artmıştır. Özellikle yabancı turist harcamaları makro ekonomik değişkenleri etkilemekte ve yabancı turist harcamalarının yaz ayları sebebiyle arttığı kabul edilmektedir.Bu çalışmada sürdürülebilir turizm kavramı temelinde yabancı turist harcamalarının makro ekonomik değişkenlerle ilişkisi ortaya konulmuş ve 1997¬2006 dönemi için aylık veri kullanarak yabancı turist harcamaları yabancı turist sayısı arası ilişkide yaz mevsiminin etkisi olup olmadığı gölge değişken kullanılarak en küçük kareler yöntemi ile araştırılacaktır.ABSTRACTGrowing tourism sector in the world has an important effect on the world's economic trend. Specially foreign tourism expenditures effects macro economic variables and foreign tourist expenditures is thought to be rising because of the summer season.)n this study the relationship between foreign tourist expenditures and macro economic variables is defined on the basis of sustainable tourism concept, whether or not there is an effect of the summer season in the relationship between foreign tourist expenditures and number of foreign tourists is analyzed by using dummy variable in ordinary least squares method for the 1997-2006 period using monthly data.
