Türk halk anlatmaları içerisinde halk hikâyelerinin özel bir yeri vardır. Geçmişteki ve günümüzdeki kültürel ve modern hayattan izler taşır. Geleneksel edebiyatımızın en zengin ve çok yönlü türlerinden biridir halk hikâyeleri. Bu hikâyelerinden biri de Âşık Kıraç Ata tarafından tasnif edilen İlbey ile Mihrinaz Hikâyesi’dir. Bu makalede, İlbey ile Mihrinaz Hikâyesi çeşitli yönlerden ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Kıraç Ata’nın hayatı, hikâyeciliği, hikâyenin motif sırası, kaynağı, coğrafyası, zamanı, kahramanları, epizotlarının ve şiirlerinin tahlili, formelleri, dil ve anlatımı gibi konular üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca tasnif edilen hikâye bu makaleyle ilim dünyasına duyurulmuş olcaktır.

Folk stories have owned a special place in Turkish narration. It bears traces of cultural and modern life from the past and nowadays. Folk stories have been one of the richest and the most versatile types in Turkish Literature. One of those stories is The Story of İlbey and Mihrinaz, which was created by Kıraç Ata the Minstrel. The Story of İlbey and Mihrinaz has been discussed and studied from different perspectives. The life of Kıraç Ata the Minstrel, his style of narration, his motif sequence of narration, sources, geography, time, scene, protagonists, analyses of the episodes and poems, formals, language and narration have been emphasized and studied in detail. Moreover, the story which was created will be announced to the literature world through this paper.
