Determination of suıtable corıander (Coriandrum sativum l.) cultıvars for eastern medıterranean regıon

Coriander, Coriandrum sativum L., is a major medicinal and aromatic plant having aromatic carminative,stomachic, and antispasmodic properties. There are six improved cultivars in Turkey. In the research, it wasaimed to adaptability trial of the new cultivars for Eastern Mediterranean. Therefore, field experiments werecarried out during 2008 - 2009 and 2009 - 20 10 growing seasons.Plant and agronomic properties wereevaluated with oil content and composition. Oil compositions were analyzed with GCMS. As a result of theresearch, all investigated char acters were varied significantly, except linalool which is major component incoriander fruit oil. With respect to fruit yield and essential oil content, the best results were obtained fromArslan and Erbaa cultivars, respectively . Linalool contents varied between 84.60 and 90.10 %; and maximumdata of the component were obtained from Gurbuz with 90%.
