Synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles from the reaction of amidrazones with $alpha$-haloesters

The reaction of amidrazones 1 with $alpha$-haloesters 2 formed 1,3,5-substituted 4,5-dihydro-l,2,4-triazin-6-ones (4a-z) rather than l,2,4-triazin-5-one derivatives (5a-z). The microanalysis and spectral data of the synthesized compounds are in full agreement with their molecular structure.
