A contribution to the taxonomy of Zoegea (Asteraceae, Cardueae–Centaureinae)

A worldwide taxonomic revision and the relevant lectotypifications of Zoegea L. (Asteraceae) are presented. The recognizedtaxa, the relevant synonyms, type details, images of the type specimen, examined specimen lists, and a taxonomic key are provided forthis genus. The geographic distribution of all recognized taxa is presented and tabulated. Zoegea leptaurea L. subsp. leptaurea for thefloras of Iran and Saudi Arabia and also Z. purpurea Fresen. for the flora of Iraq are reported as new here.
