1995-1996 yıllarında sürdürülen bu çalışmada, Erzurum yöresinde 5 familyaya ait 42 arı türünün ayçiçeği bitkisinde çiçekleri ziyaret ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayçiçeğini en çok ziyaret eden arı türünün %80 ve %88 arasında değişen oranla balansı (Apis mellifera L.) olduğu, yabanarı türlerinin %12-20 civarında bulunduğu saptanmıştır. Pyrobombus incertus (Mor.), P. cullumanus apollineus (Skor.), Megabombus sylvarum daghestanicus (Rad.), M. armeniacus Rad., M. ruderarius simulatilis (Rad.), Andrena flavipes Warn., Halictus quadricinctus (E), H. morbillosus (K.R.), Megachile apicalis Spinola, M. anatolica (Reb.), M. lagapoda (L.) ve M. pilidensAW. gibi yabanarı türleri ayçiçeğini diğer türlere oranla daha fazla ziyaret etmişlerdir. En fazla boş dane miktarı ve boş dane ağırlığı, kafesler içerisine alınan ansız bitkilerden (817,17 adet/tabla ve 7,24 g/tabla) ve ansız torbalanan tablalardan (667,8 adet/tabla ve 6,22 g/tabla) elde edil¬miştir. En fazla dolu dane (1150,7 adet/tabla ve 67,2 g/tabla) açık tozlaşmaya bırakılan tablalardan, en az dolu dane (373,3 adet/tabla ve 16,4 g/tabla) ansız kafeslenen tablalardan elde edilmiştir. Açıkta tozlanan tablalarda % 86,8'lık dolu dane bağlama oranı ile ilk sırayı alrıken, % 67,8'lik oranla tabla başına 2 an ile kafeslenen tablalar ikinci sırayı ve % 31,5'lik değerle ansız kafeslenen tablalar son sırayı almıştır. Açıkta tozlanan tablalarda 1000 dane ağırlığı 52,1 g olmasına karşın, ansız tozlanan tablalarda bu değer 19,9 g olmuştur. Yağ oranına ait en büyük değer % 39,2 ile açıkta tozlanan tablalardan elde edilirken, en düşük değer % 32,4'lük oranla ansız kafeslenen tablalardan elde edilmiştir.

During 1995 and 1996, it was determined that there were 42 bee species belonging to 5 families visiting sunflowers in the Erzurum region. The species with the highest number of bees visit¬ing sunflowers was Apis mellifera L. (80-88%). Wild bee species accounted for 12-20% of sunflower visits. The most abundant wild bee species were Pyrobombus incertus.(Mor.), P. cullumanus apollineus (Skor.), Megabombus sylvarum daghestanicus (Rad.), M. armeniacus (Rad)., M. ruderarius simulatilis (Rad.), Andrena flavipes Pz., Halictus quadricinctus (E), H. morbillosus (Kr.), Megachile apicalis Spinola, M. anatolica (Reb.), M. lagapoda (L.) and M. pilidens Alf. The highest number of hollowed seeds quantity and weight were obtained in cages (817.17 num per head and 7.24g/head) and with heads bagged (667.8 per head and 6.22g/per head) without bees. The highest number of filled seeds and weight (1150.7 num/head and 67.2 g/head) were obtained in natural conditions and the lowest number of filled seeds (373.3 num per/head and 16.4 g/head) were obtained in cages. Seed setting ratios were 86.8% in natural conditions, 67.8% in cages with two bees, and 31.5% in cages with no bee, respectively. The weight of 1000 seeds in natural conditions and in cages without bee were 52.1 g and 19.9g, respectively. The oil ratio was 39.2% in natural conditions and 32.4% in cages without bee.
