THE ROLE OF JOB SATISFACTION AND SUBJECTIVE FATIGUE PERCEPTION ON THE EFFECT OF PERCEIVED WORK STRESS ON THE INTENTION TO QUIT OF THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS

This study has been carried out on air traffic controllers who are known for experiencing high work stress. In the study, the role of the levels of job satisfaction and subjective fatigue perceptions in the effect of work stress on intention to quit of the air traffic controllers have been examined. The study has been conducted with the participation of 222 air traffic controllers. According to the results of the study, work stress has predicted intention to quit positively and internal and external job satisfaction negatively and significantly. The significant effect of work stress on subjective fatigue perception hasn’t been determined. Besides, in the study, it has been found that internal and external job satisfaction has predicted the intention to quit positively and significantly. The subjective fatigue perception has predicted the intention to quit positively and significantly. Finally, the internal and external job satisfaction has a mediator role in the relationship between perceived work stress and the intention to quit is one of the results obtained in the study.
