The reasons and effects of permanent first molar extraction in children

Permanent first molar teeth are the most frequently lost teeth due to caries and they are also most susceptible to dental caries. In treatment planning for these teeth, many factors should be carefully examined such as the dentition period, the presence of crowding, the age of the patient, and occlusal relations. Failures in treatment planning for these teeth include tipping to the adjacent tooth area, extrusion to the opposite tooth space, shifting towards the midline to the extraction area, formation of asymmetric chewing habits, and periodontal problems due to the atrophy of the alveolar bone in the extraction area. The aim of this review is to evaluate early loss of first molar tooth and the effects of its in children
