Psikolojik-gerilim türü bağlamında Wulf Dorn’un “Psikiyatrist” romanı

Bu çalışma, Wulf Dorn’un “Psikiyatrist” adlı eserinin ana karakteri olan ve Orman Kliniği adlı Psikoterapi ve Psikosomati Psikiyatri hastanesinde psikiyatrist olarak görev yapan Dr. Ellen Roth üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Roth, aynı zamanda meslektaşı da olan erkek arkadaşı Christoph ile sıradan bir yaşam sürmektedir. Alman yazar Wulf Dorn’un 2009 yılında kaleme aldığı “Psikiyatrist” adlı eser, hem gerilim türünün unsurlarını taşıması hem de karakterlerin psikolojilerine vurguda bulunması ile psikolojik-gerilim türü bağlamında ele alınacaktır. Ellen Roth’un sıradan yaşamı, hastane koridorunda gördüğü ve muhtemelen hasta olan bir kadını araştırmak istemesi ile birdenbire değişir. Doktor Ellen Roth bu kadını takıntı haline getirir ve kadının kimliğini ortaya çıkarmayı görev edinir. Bundan sonraki süreçte okur, Ellen Roth ile birlikte kendini gizemli olayların, gerilimin ve korkunun içerisinde bulur. Wulf Dorn’un eseri kurgularken psikiyatristlerden yardım alması, eser içerisinde gerçek psikolojik terimlerin bulunmasına olanak sağlamıştır. Bu da eserin Psikolojik-gerilim türü içerisinde ele alınmasını daha elverişli hale getirmiştir. Çalışmada, eserin yakın okuma yapılarak ve psikolojik-gerilim türünün unsurları çerçevesinde incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada, metne bağlı inceleme yöntemi psikolojik veriler göz önüne alınarak kullanılacaktır.

The novel “The Psychiatrist” by Wulf Dorn in the context of psychological thriller genre

This study is focuses on the main character Dr. Ellen Roth in Wulf Dorn’s novel “The Psychiatrist” who works as a psychiatrist in a Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics hospital named the Forest Clinic. Roth lives a normal life with her boyfriend Christopher who is also her colleague. The novel “The Psychiatrist” authored by German writer Wulf Dorn in 2009 will be dealt with in the context of psychological-thriller genre as it both carries the characteristics of the thriller genre and emphasizes the psychology of the characters. Ellen Roth’s ordinary life changes suddenly that she wants to investigate a woman she sees in the hospital corridor and who is likely a patient is. Dr. Ellen Roth gets obsessed with this woman and she commits herself to revealing the identity of her. The readers find themselves amongst mysterious events, tension and fear after that. Wulf Dorn’s having received help from real life psychiatrist while writing the novel allows the text to embody real psychological terms. This makes the novel suitable to be dealt with as an example of a psychological-thriller. The study aims at analyzing the novel through a close reading und within the elements of the psychological-thriller genre. In this respect, an inherent method in the light of psychological data will be used.
