Süreçleri Başından İtibaren Düşünmek. Tarih Araştırmalarındaki Güncel Gelişmeler Bağlamında Yeni Yunan Tarih(ler)i

Ege Tarihi, Hellenler ve onların MÖ 1. binyılın ilk yarısındaki yerleşim düzenleri ve kültürel coğrafyaları üzerine yakın tarihli birkaç genel çalışma – Ulf – Kistler (2020) ve Schulz – Walter (2022) tarafından kaleme alınmış kitaplar gibi – son yıllarda dinamik olarak gelişen uluslararası araştırmaların mevcut durumuna güvenilir, kapsamlı belgelerle donatılmış girişler sunmaktadır. Bitmekten çok uzak olan bu yoğun tartışmalar, bir yanda – zaman, mekan ve uzamsallık gibi – yaşam dünyalarının yapısal koşulları etrafında dönerken, diğer yanda «etnik köken» ve kimlik(lerin) oluşumu, sosyal hareketlilik ve göç, toplumsal tabakalaşma ve ayrımcı uygulamalar, kurumsallaşma, «devlet» olgusunun oluşumu ve siyasal örgütlenme biçimlerinin farklılaşması gibi her türden sürece odaklanmaktadır. Makalede, bu tartışmaların belli odak noktaları saptanmakta ve bu tartışmalarda geliştirilen modern, tanımlayıcı ve analitik kavramlar ve kategoriler tanıtılmaktadır.

Thinking Processes from the Beginning. New Greek History(s) in the Context of Current Developments in Historical Studies

Several recent overview works on the history of Greece, the Greeks and their settlement and cultural area in the first half of the first millennium BC – namely Ulf – Kistler 2020 and Schulz – Walter 2022 – offer reliable, extensively documented introductions to the current status of the international Research that has developed dynamically in recent decades. The intense debates, which are far from over, revolve around the structural conditions of the living environment – such as time, space and spatiality – on the one hand and processes of all kinds on the other –such as «ethnogenesis» and the formation of identity(s), such as mobility and migration, such as social stratification and practices of distinction, such as institutionalization, the genesis of «statehood» and the differentiation of political forms of organization. The article identifies particular focal points of these debates and presents the modern descriptive and analytical concepts and categories that have been developed.
