Treatment results of the patients that were treated with pulse corticosteroid were compared with the results of treatment of the patients that had oral corticosteroids. Results: Forty eyes of 30 patients were included in the study group and 41 eyes of 30 patients were included in the control group. Inflammatory activation were supressed in study group in 7.2 days while it was supressed in control group in 15.4 days and this difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Although statistically significant results were obtained within each group (P < 0.05), there was no statistically significant visual acuity increase among the groups (P > 0,05). In patients who had an elevation in visual acuity, the first day when visual acuity started to elevate was 6.2 in both groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Although it has no superiority to oral corticosteroids in long term efficacy, pulse corticosteroid therapy seems to have more advantages as it responds rapidly and has less side effects.
