PURPOSE: Standard and fastpac 30/2 visual field programs (VFP ) were compared in cases with glaucoma and normal individuals for determination of usability and safety of fastpac 30/2 visual field programs in clinical use. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Examination of standard and fastpac VFP of the 113 patients ( 171 eyes) who has been under medical treatment for glaucoma and 40 normal persons (57 eyes ), totally 153 persons (228 eyes), were retrospectively evaluated. All patients were evaluated for duration of the test, number of the stimulation, mean deviation (MD), patern standard deviation (PSD), short term fluctation (SF) and corrected patern standard deviation CPSD). Same parameters was determined in subgroups of the patients which were divided according to Anderson's criterias. Paired t and Wilcoxon Rank tests were used as statistically analyses. RESULTS: The average of the MD which determined by standard and fastpac VFP were -5.55 and -5.52, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between these parameters. The average of the PSD of the all patients which determined by standard and fastpac VFP were 3.97 and 4.03, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between these parameters. In all patients, the average of the SF for standard VFP was 1.78 dB, it was 2.28 dB for fastpac VFP. There was statistically significant difference between these parameters. The average of the CPSD in all patients for the standard VFP was 3.16, it was 2.74 for fastpac VFP. There was statistically significant difference between these parameters. In addition, these parameters were compared between normal individuals and patients with minimal, mild or severe glaucoma. CONCLUSION: Number of the stimulation and duration of the test were less in fastpac VFP than standard VFP. For all patients except normal group there was no difference between these tests for values of MD and PSD. Average of the SF for fastpac test 0.5 dB more than standart test, but test duration of the fastpac was less than standart test. In addition, value of the CPSD was less in fastpac test than standard test.
