Prebiotics and Their Effects on Human Health

Bazı yiyeceklerin sağlık kalitelerini artırdıkları ve bazı sık görülen kanser formlarının oluşumunu önleyebileceği bilinmektedir. Başta gelişmiş ülkeler olmak üzere tüm dünya çapında bu beslenme problemlerini çözmek için yoğun araştırmalar yapılmakta ve eğitim programları düzenlenmektedir. Vücutta konak ve intestinal mikrobial popülasyonda bir denge durumu vardır ve bu dengeyi bozan sebepler hastalıklara sebep olurlar. Sağlıklı ve dengeli beslenme adına, fonksiyonel besinlerin diyete sokularak, diyetle ilişkili artmış hastalık riskinin azaltılması hedeflenmektedir. Bu fonksiyonel besinlerden bir tanesi de prebiyotiklerdir. Bu derlemede, prebiyotikler ve sağlığımız üzerindeki olumlu etkileri ele alınmıştır.

It is known that some foods improve health quality and prevent the formation of some common forms of cancer. To solve this nutrition problem, intensive researches are performing and training programs are organizing in all over the world especially in the developed countries. There is a balance between host and intestinal microbiota in the body and the causes which disrupt this equilibrium cause diseases. For a healthy and balanced diet, reducing the risk of diet related diseases are targeted by adding functional foods to diet. One of the functional foods is prebiotics.
