Yaşam Memnuniyeti ve Mutluluk Eşitsizliği: Türkiye’den Bulgular

Bu çalışmanın iki amacı bulunmaktadır. İlki Türkiye’deki yaşam memnuniyeti ve mutluluk kutuplaşması ve eşitsizliğinin boyutlarını ortaya koymaktır. İkincisi din, gelir dağılımı, ideoloji ve güven bağlamında yaşam memnuniyeti ve mutluluğun belirleyicilerini tahmin etmektir. Bu doğrultuda 1990-2011 dönemini kapsayan World Values Survey veri seti kullanılmıştır.

Life Satisfaction and Happiness Inequality: Evidence from Turkey

This study has two purposes. The first is to reveal the sizes of life satisfaction and happiness inequalityand polarization in Turkey. The second is to estimate the determinants of life satisfaction and happiness in the context of religion, income distribution, ideology and trust. Accordingly, the World Values Survey dataset covering the period 1990-2011 has been utilized. According to the findings obtained from the polarization indices, life satisfaction and happiness polarization first increased and then decreased in the corresponding period. However, life satisfaction inequality first increased, then decreased and eventually increased again. Estimation results have demonstrated that factors such as religion, ideology and institutional trust are effective on life satisfaction and happiness.
