Intraamniotik Enfeksiyonun Erken Tanısında Amniotik Sıvı Glukoz Düzeyi

AMNIOTIC FLUID GLUCOSE CONCENTRATION AT THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF INTRA-AMNIOTIC INFECTION ✓ It has been reported that amniotic fluid glucose concentration is reliable and a rapid indicator of intra-amnioUc infection. The aim of this study is to investigate if there is a significant diffe¬rence between amniotic fluid glucose levels of the pregnants with positive and negative amniotic fluid culture. Of pregnants, amniotic fluids were obtained from amniotic sac directly during ce¬sarean section or via transcervical during labor. Then amniotic fluid glucose concentrations were measured, and aerobic cultures and gram stains of amniotic fluids were performed. The mean glucose level in the amniotic fluid of the 52 cases with culture positive was compared with that of the 70 cases with culture negative. It was found out that the mean glucose levels were 15.60+1.14 mg/dl in the group with amniotic fluid culture positive and 23. 56+1.80 mg/dl in the group with culture negative. The difference between the mean glucose levels of two groups was statistically significant (p
