FACTORS EFFECTING MORTALITY IN NEONATAL SEPSIS ✓ Sixtyfour cases of culture proven sepsis were hospitalized in the neonatology clinic of Ondo¬kuz mayıs University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. Twenty (31 %) of the pati¬ents were evaluated as early-onset (0.05). In early-onset sepsis mortality was found to be 20 % as compared to 15.9 % in sepsis of late onset. Our results show that careful appoach might allow for lower mortality in the neonatal sepsis. Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı Yeni¬doğan Ünitesinde izlenen kültür pozitif sepsis tanısı alan 64 olgu çalışma kapsamına alındı. Has¬taların 20'si (%31) erken başlangıçlı (0.05). Mortalité oranı erken başlangıçlı sepsiste %20, geç başlangıçlı sepsiste % 15.9 idi. Bu sonuç, etkili bir yaklaşımla yenidoğan sepsisindeki mortalité oranlarının daha da düşebileceğini göstermektedir.
