Ahilik; toplumun huzur, refah ve bütünlüğünü sağlamak için ticari, ekonomik, sosyal, kültürel, ve siyasi faaliyetlerde bulunan ve sosyal yardımlaşma ve dayanışmayı esas alan bir kurumdur. Bununla birlikte Ahilik, ortaya çıkış sürecinde fütüvvetnamelerden esinlenerek ahlak kurallarını oluşturan, Türk toplumunun öz değerlerini, örf ve adetlerine uygun olarak İslam inancıyla kaynaştırıp, hem dünyevi yaşam için hem ahiret için çalışan, dünyevi işleri ahiret hayatı için araç olarak gören esnaf ve sanatkarlardan oluşan bir Türk kurumudur. Ahilik gerek Selçuklu gerekse Osmanlı devleti döneminde günümüzdeki kooperatifçilik, sendika, sigorta, banka ve mesleki eğitim kurumu olma görevini üstlenerek iş ahlakı ve etiğini yaymıştır. Günümüz Türkiye’sinde ise Ahilik kurumunun, Batı’dan çok ayrı bir noktada bulunduğu ve uygulanmaya başlandığı dönemden itibaren ekonomik, sosyal, siyasi ve dini açıdan başarılı ve bütünleştirici bir kurum olduğu görülmektedir. Günümüzde, var olan işlerde çalışma ahlakının ve iş etiğinin tarihsel bir kavram olarak görüldüğü, oluşturulan işlerin, kişilerin almış olduğu niteliğe uygun olmadığı, tüketicilerin sürekli almaya teşvik edilip ‘tüketim toplumu’ haline getirildiği ve emeğe gerekli önemin verilmediği bir çalışma ortamı söz konusudur. Ayrıca, iletişim ve teknolojinin zirveye ulaşmasına rağmen temel değerlerin zayıflayıp gerilediği, uluslararası alanda güçlü olanın haklı kabul edilip küresel bir istikrarsızlık sürecinin yaşandığı, işsizliğin üst düzeye ulaşıp, buna bağlı olarak sosyal dışlanmanın arttığı, insanların yalnızlaştırıldığı, toplumsal birlik ve beraberliğin öneminin unutulduğu bir kültürel yozlaşma ortamı oluşmuş durumdadır. Söz konusu ortamlara karşı ahilik sisteminin bir çözüm getirip getiremeyeceği olasılığı, bu çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmuştur. Bu noktadan hareketle bu çalışmada amaçlanan, Ahilik sisteminin günümüz sosyal politika sorunlarına bir çözüm olup olamayacağını incelemektir. Yapılan literatür taraması sonucunda, ahilik sisteminin ilkelerinin günümüz ortam ve şartlarına uygulanması halinde sosyal politika sorunların bir çözüm olabileceği tespit edilmiştir. 

Ahi community is an organization engaged in commercial, economical, social, cultural and political issues in order to provide integrity of the society’s peace and welfare by basing on social aid and solidarity. Besides, Ahi community is a Turkish organization comprising of merchants and craftsmen who work for both secular life and afterlife and evaluate secular life just as a step for afterlife by favourably integrating the eigenvalues of Turkish society with the Islamic belief, and who constitute moral rules by inspiring from the rules and regulations of Turkish-Islamic guild. Ahi community propagated the codes of conduct in the period of Ottomans and Seljukians by undertaking the duties of the institutions performed in present day in Turkey such as the cooperative system, trade union, insurance, bank and vocational education board. Today in Turkey, it seems that Ahi community is in a place too diverse from the West and has become a successful and integrative organization in economical, social, political and religional terms since the term that the mentioned organization performed. Today’s work environment has turned to be a place where it seems that the work ethics is considered to be a historical concept, the works are not convenient for the educational background of people, and the consumers are continously promoted for purchasing and turned to be a “Consumption Society”, and there is no respect shown to labor. Besides, there has been a cultural degeneration condition occured where the basic values have weakened despite the fact that communication and technology have grown up, where the global instability process exists in international sense by considering that the strong is always right, where the unemployment has reached to the peak point and in that vein, social exclusion has increased, where people have become isolated, and where the importance of social integrity has been forgotten. The possibility whether the system of Ahi community can be a solution to the mentioned conditions is the starting point of the research. In that vein, the aim of the research is to examine whether the system of Ahi community can be a solution to today’s social politics problems. As a result of literature review, it was determined that the system of Ahi community could be a solution to the social politics problems in case the system’s principles were implemented to today’s conditions.
