A study on Developing Sixth-Grade Students' Spatial Visualization Ability

The main goal of this research is to improve the spatial ability of the 6th grade students. In this study, spatial visualization was limited to the acquisitions in Turkish Primary Education mathematics curriculum. The study dealt with primary education mathematics curriculum, geometry learning domain, the acquisitions of the abilities to visualize three-dimensional structures built from unit cubes, to interpret twodimensional drawings of three-dimensional objects and to find out the surfaces of the cube within geometrical objects sub learning domain. In the framework of this limitation, the spatial visualization ability of the 6th grade students has been trying to develop with concrete manipulatives , computer practicing and paper representations. The study population consists of twenty 6th grade students attending Cumhuriyet Primary School in Sivrihisar, Eski?ehir. The data in the study were collected through a qualitative research method, teacher as an action researcher. The Data collected through the result of the pre-and post-test, interviewing, pictures, data collected via observation and the video records. The effectiveness of this application was to be determined by analysis of the qualitative data obtained from these resources. According to the findings of the research, the success rate of post test increased after the application
