Determination of Economic Globalization and Foreign Direct Investments on CO2 Emissions: A Case of Turkish Economy
The main objective of this study is to determine the interaction be-tween foreign direct investments and CO2 emissions within the framework of globalization in the Turkish economy. To this end, the long-term determination of economic globalization and foreign di-rect investment on CO2 emissions has been empirically analysed by using the methods of FMOLS, DOLS and CCR. In addition, the long-term interaction between related variables has been analyzed by Johansen Cointegration test. All of the test results have shown that income per capita, foreign direct investments and economic globali-zation affect CO2 emissions in the long run. Empirical findings indi-cate that economic globalization, income per capita and foreign direct investments parallel with the globalisation process, have an increas-ing effect on pollution for the Turkish economy. And furthermore, foreign direct investments have the most positive impact on CO2 emissions
