Bu çalışmada insan ve hak kavramlarından hareket edip 1948’de öne sürülüp kabul edilen İnsan Hakları Evrensel Beyannamesi’ne eleştirel bir açıdan yaklaşılmış ve beyannameyi hazırlayan kesimlerin zihniyetleri ve niyetleri sorgulanmıştır. İnsan Hakları Evrensel Beyannamesi gerçekten insan(lar) için mi hazırlanmıştır sorusu irdelenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra sözkonusu beyannamenin insan ırkına ne kadar hizmet ettiği ve etmekte olduğu genel olarak tartışılmış ve insan haklarının korunması için faydalı olacağı düşünülen bazı öneriler sunulmuştur. Çalışmada yapılan tartışmalardan, sözkonusu beyannamenin ismindeki gibi evrensel özellikte olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In the present study, initially human and right concepts have been discussed, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which was proposed in 1948 was criticised, and the mentality and intention of those who prepared the declaration was questioned. The question whether the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was prepared really for human(s) was examined. Beside this, to what extent the mentioned declaration has served the human race was discussed generally, and some suggestions to conserve human rights were proposed. The conclusion derived from the discussions that were forwarded in the present study, it was revealed that the mentioned declaration was not universal as it was claimed in its title.
