The Perception of Nasraddin Hodja as a Common Character of the Turkic World in "Mask and Sour"

Turkish literature deals with the concept of individualism as well. Halide Edip Adıvar is a novelist who attaches an importance to this subject. Adıvar, who places emphasis on this point in her play dubbed "Mask and Spirit", gives Nasraddin Hodja, a witty character known in the whole Turkic world, as an example of individualism. In this article, firstly, the term of individuality was studied. Then, on the basis of Mask and Soul by Halide Edip Adıvar, the struggle of being an individial was searched. Finally, the features of Nasraddin Hodja's personality appeared to be belonging an eastern character.
