Brusellozda bilateral diz eklemi tutulumu oldukça nadirdir. Ülkemiz gibi brusellozun endemik olduğu bölgelerde septik artritli hastaların tanısında sinovyal sıvının mikrobiyolojik incelemesinin önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır.

Seronegative Brucellar oligoarthritis: a case report with delayed diagnosis

Brucellosis is an infectious disease that causes confusion and diagnostic dilemma because it is a multisystem disease that appears in different clinical forms. In this study, we describe a case who presented with pain and edema in both knees, with a delayed diagnosis of brucellosis because of the seronegativity. Bilateral involvement of the knees is quite uncommon in brucellosis. We emphasize the importance of the microbiological examination of the synovial fluid in patients with septic arthritis since brucellosis shows endemicity in regions like our country.
