Olgu sayısı, gelişim grubunda 60 kız ve 44 erkek, erişkin grupta ise 59 kız ve 51 erkek şeklindedir. Olguların uzak röntgen resimlerinden yararlanıldı. Araştırmada. ANB açısı 0°-4° arasında olanlar yer almıştır. Alt ve üst dudağın önarka yöndeki konum değişikliğinin incelenmesi. Ricketts'in E düzlemine göre yapıldı. Bulgulara ait minimum, maksimum, ortalama değerler ve standart sapmalar tablolarda verildi. Aynca, bireylerin alt ve üst dudakları arasındaki ilişki, korelasyon analizi ile tesbit edildi.Sonuçta, yaş artışı ile kız ve erkeklerde dudakların geriye çekildiği gözlendi. Buna ilaveten, gelişim dönemindeki erkek çocuklar hariç diğerlerinde alt ve üst dudaklar arasında önemli bir ilişki belirlendi.Bu konuda longitudinal çalışmaların daha sağlıklı sonuçlar verebileceği fikrine katılıyoruz. Aynca; ırk, cins ve gelişim faktörüde gözönüne alınmalıdır.Key Words: Growth, Soft Tissue Changes, Ricketts E Analysis.In this study we investigated the position of the upper and lower lips and the relation between them for the children (Mean age: 9-10) and adults (Mean age: 18) with the soft tissue profile.There are 214 individuals and they have normal soft tissue profile. There are 60 girls and 44 boys in the children group and 59 females and 51 males in the adult group. We used the cephalometric films and included only the group with the ANB angle 0"-4".The investigation of the position change of the upper and lower lips in the front and back direction is made according to Ricketts E plane. The minimum, maximum and mean values and the standart deviations of the results are given in the tables.Furthermore, we determined the relation between the upper and lower lips by using the correlation analysis.In conclusion we observed a relation between the increase of the age and the retrusion of the lips of males and females. Furthermore there is an important correlation between the upper and lower lips for all the groups except the boys about age 9-10.One can obtain better results by using the longitudional study and by taking into account the race, sex and growth factor.
