Diyabetes Mellitus Olgularında Oral Mukoza Bulguları Oral

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı diyabetik ve diyabetik olmayan bireylerin oral mukozal lezyonlar, ağız yanma (burning mouth) sendromu, tat değişikliği, ağız kuruluğu gibi oral bulguların kaydedilerek karşılaştırılmasıydı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Toplam 120 hasta ( 40 tip 1 DM, 40 tip 2 DM ve 40 kontrol grubu) oral mukozal lezyonlar, burning mouth sendromu, tat değişikliği, ağız kuruluğu için muayene edildi. Form yöneltildi. Bulgular: Diyabetik grup diyabetik olmayan gruptan daha şiddetli ve yüksek prevalansta tat değişikliği, ağız kuruluğu, mukozada ağrı, dilde tabaka ve burning mouth sendromu sergilediler. Ağız kuruluğu prevalansı kontrol grubunda %27.5, tip 2 diyabetlilerde %70, tip 1diyabetlilerde %67.5 idi. Tat değişikliği prevalansı kontrol grubunda %5, tip 2 diyabetlilerde %67.5, tip 1diyabetlilerde %22.5 idi. Mukozal ağrı prevalansı tip 2 diyabetlilerde %30, tip 1diyabetlilerde %12.5 idi. Dilde tabaka prevalansı kontrol grubunda %5, tip 2 diyabetlilerde %52.5, tip 1diyabetlilerde 30% idi. Burning mouth sendromu prevalansı kontrol grubunda %2.5, tip 2 diyabetlilerde %42.5, tip 1diyabetlilerde %35 idi. Sonuçlar: Bu çalışma diyabetik hastaların ağız kuruluğu, tat değişikliği, dilde tabaka, burning mounth sendromu ve mukozal ağrıda yüksek potansiyele sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.

Mucosal Manifestation in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare diabetic and nondiabetic subjects regard to oral manifestation such as oral mucosal lesions, burning mouth syndrome, xerostomia, and taste change. Material and methods: A total of 120 patients (40 with type 1 diabetes mellitus, 40 type 2 diabetes mellitus and 40 control groups) were examined for oral mucosal lesions, burning mouth syndrome, xerostomia, and taste change. A self-administered questionnaire was administered. Results: The diabetic group exhibited significantly higher prevalence and more severe dry mouth, taste change, tongue coating, burning mouth syndrome and mucosa pain than the nondiabetic group. The prevalence of dry mouth was 27.5% in the control group, 70% in the type 2 diabetic group and 67.5% in type 1diabetic group. The prevalence of taste change was 5% in the control group, 67.5% in the type 2 diabetic group and 22.5% in type 1diabetic group. The prevalence of mucosa pain was 30% in the type 2 diabetic group and 12.5% in type 1diabetic group. The prevalence of tongue coating was 5% in the control group, 52.5% in the type 2 diabetic group and 30% in type 1diabetic group. The prevalence of burning mouth syndrome was 2.5% in the control group, 42.5% in the type 2 diabetic group and 35% in type 1diabetic group. Conclusions: This study reveals that diabetic patients exhibited a potentially higher risk for dry mouth, taste change, tongue coating, burning mouth syndrome and mucosa pain.
