DİŞ ETİ PROTEZLERİ

Periodontal hastalık, travma, periodontal cerrahi işlemler, diş çekimi ile sert ve yumuşak dokuların diğer hastalıklarına bağlı olarak gingival dokularda kayıp meydana gelir. Gingival dokuların kaybı sonucu açığa çıkan kök yüzeylerinde, estetik problemlerin yanı sıra hassasiyet, çürük oluşumu, abrazyon, besin birikimi ve fonetik problemler de oluşmaktadır. Bu problemlerin çözümüne yönelik olarak yapılan ve periodontal tedaviye destek veren protez tipine diş eti protezi adı verilir. Doku kayıplarına yönelik olarak, rejeneratif prosedürleri uygulamanın mümkün olmadığı veya sonuçlarının öngörülemediği durumlarda, protetik bakış açısı ile yapılan diş eti protezleri hızlı, basit ve ucuz bir alternatiftir.Bu vaka serisi ile, diş eti protezlerinin sınıflan- dırılması, endikasyonları ve kontrendikasyonları, protez yapım aşamaları, protez yapımında kullanılan mater- yaller, protezlerin avantaj ve dezavantajlarının ince- lenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Anahtar kelimeler: Gingival protez, epitez, periodontal tedavi

GINGIVAL PROSTHESIS

Periodontal diseases, trauma, periodontal surgeries or tooth extraction can often lead to periodontal attachment loss which will further cause esthetic and functional clinical problems including caries and abrasion on root surfaces and phonetic problems. In the presence of these problems, gingival prosthesis is an inexpensive and practical option to provide an esthetic and functional outcome where the results of periodontal regenerative techniques could not be predicted. This article presents the indications, contraindications and classification of the gingival prosthesis as well as advantages, disadvantages, technique and materials used for fabrication of a gingival prosthesis
