MICRO-INVASIVE ESTHETIC REHABILITATION OF POSTORTHODONTIC INITIAL CARIES LESIONS: A CASE REPORT

Initial caries lesions frequently get formed in patients who have undergone fixed orthodontic treatment, as the fixed orthodontic appliance complicates daily oral hygiene maintenance. This case report describes a micro-invasive technique for the esthetic rehabilitation of post-orthodontic initial caries lesions. This technique is based on the infiltration of non-cavitated caries lesions with low-viscosity infiltrant resin and the polymerization of it with light; thereby leading to treat the initial caries related discolorations and interrupt the lesion progression. The resin infiltration is a tissue preserving, quick and effective technique alternative to the conventional protective and restorative treatments that remarkably improves esthetics in initial caries lesions.

ORTODONTİK TEDAVİ SONRASI GÖRÜLEN BAŞLANGIÇ ÇÜRÜK LEZYONLARININ MİKRO-İNVAZİV ESTETİK TEDAVİSİ: OLGU SUNUMU

Başlangıç çürük lezyonları, sabit ortodontik tedavi gören hastalarda, braketlerin günlük oral hijyen uygulamalarını zorlaştırması nedeniyle, sıklıkla görülmektedir. Bu klinik olgu sunumunda sabit ortodontik tedavi sonrası görülen başlangıç çürük lezyonlarının giderilmesi ve estetik rehabilitasyonu amacıyla mikro-invaziv bir teknik kullanılmıştır. Bu teknik, kavitasyon görülmeyen çürük lezyonlarının düşük viskoziteli bir rezinle (infiltrant) infiltrasyonuna ve ışık ile polimerizasyonuna dayanmaktadır. Böylece, başlangıç çürüklerinin neden olduğu renk değişimleri düzeltilir ve çürük lezyonun ilerlemesi durdurulur. Rezin infiltrasyon tekniği, dokuları koruyan, estetiği önemli ölçüde iyileştiren, konservatif, hızlı ve etkili bir alternatiftir.
