GEBELİKLE BİRLİKTE NADİR GÖRÜLEN LOMBER OMURGANIN SAF EKSTRADURAL SCHWANNOMU A
Rare Pure Extradural Schwannoma of Lumbar Spine in Pregnancy
Spinal schwannomas develop from neoplastic schwann cells and most frequently show intradural extramedullary localization, however, they may be seen in intradural, combined intra-extradural and pure extradural localization in relation to dura. Our knowledge about the progression of schwannomas during pregnancy mainly consists of case/s presentation. Herein, we present a case of pure extradural schwannoma at the left L1 level in a patient known to be 4 weeks pregnant at 19 years of age. The relationship between pregnancy and spinal schwannomas is unclear. Our case cannot respond to questions about schwannomas detected during pregnancy such as whether the surgeon should wait until delivery or to plan emergent surgery. We believe that more work needs to be done to answer such questions.
