Barış Manço yaşadığı dönemde sanat ve televizyon dünyasına adını kazıyan ve milyonların sevgisini kazanan ender şahsiyetlerden biridir. Özünde ulusal, biçimde evrensel olma ilkesinden hareketle sanatını icra etmiştir. Türk milletinin tarihini, kültürünü, değerlerini, inanışlarını, geleneğini şarkılarında bir sanatçı titizliğiyle işlemiştir. Manço Türk kültürünü, tarihini bir bütün olarak görmüş ve ele almıştır. Şarkılarında Orta Asya’dan günümüze intikal eden birçok değerimize yer vermiş ve bu şekilde bir kültür aktarımı gerçekleştirerek, gelenekten geleceğe uzanan bir köprü vazifesi görmüştür. Gelenekten beslenen ve bunu şarkılarının geneline başarılı bir şekilde yansıtan Manço, bu şuurlu gayretlerinden dolayı akademik çevrelerin de takdirini kazanmıştır. Şarkıları üniversitelerde tez konusu olmuştur. 1991 yılında, Türk kültürünü yaşatmadaki şuurlu gayretleri sebebiyle Hacettepe Üniversitesi tarafından kendisine onursal doktora verilmiştir. Biz bu çalışmamızda Türk kültürüne, edebiyatına mal olmuş efsane, destan ve anlatılarda sıkça geçen formel sayıların Barış Manço’nun şarkılarında ne şekilde geçtiğine değinecek ve bunu örnekler üzerinden daha somut bir şekilde göstermeye çalışacağız.

Barış Manço is one of the rare figures who engraved his name in the art and the television world during his lifetime and who won the love of millions of people. He has performed his art acting with the principle of being national in its essence, and being universal in respect of its style. He has referred to as a whole to the history, the culture, the values of the Turkish nation in his songs with the precision of an artist. Manço has seen and dealt with the Turkish culture and the history as a whole. He has used a number of our values that were transferred to our day from the Middle Asia in his songs and in a that way he has actualized a transfer of a culture and has served as a bridge stretching from the tradition to the future. Manço, fed from the tradition and successfully reflecting that into his songs in general, has also won the praise of the academic circles due to this conscious efforts he has made. His songs were the subject of thesis in the universities. The Hacettepe University entitled him with a honorary doctorate in the year of 1991 due to his conscious efforts he has made in cherishing of the Turkish culture. In this study we will talk about in what way the formal numbers, frequently mentioned in the epics, the myths and the narratives of the Turkish national culture and literature, were mentioned in the songs of Barış Manço and we will try to indicate that in a more concrete way by using examples
