Kavramsal tasarım, bir veya daha fazla kavram modellerin ihtiyaçlar ve fonksiyonların bir tarifinden ve sonuçta tasarlanan bir nesnenin (sistemin) performans ve gerçek davranışının tahminine kadar bir geliştirme işlemidir. Bu çalışmada, mekanik sistemlerin kavramsal tasarımı için sistematik bir yaklaşım sunulmuştur. Bu sistematik yaklaşım, bir oto servis lifti örneğiyle açıklanmıştır

Conceptual design is a process progressing from a description of needs and functions to one or more abstract models, and finally to the prediction of the actual behaviour and performance of the object being designed. In this study, A Systematic Approach is presented for Conceptual Design for Mechanical Systems. This systematic approach has been explained with an example of auto service lift.
