It is well known that the quality of education has great effects on the development of a country. Education by name has national aspects, which means that national politics and implementations need to be undertaken in education. With regard to education, teacher training has a special importance on both the national development and raising the quality labor force needed by the country. Teacher is the key person acting in educational settings. In the present work at first a historical analysis was made and then some current problems in teacher training were dealt with. The teacher training process has in essence two sides: preservice training at faculty of education and in-service training carried out by related departments of ministry of national education. It makes sense to examine the both sides together, but since there have been actions to make changes in pre-service education; especially this side was closely touched with.
