Subdural and intracystic hemorrhage associated with aracnoid cyst after head trauma: a case report

Araknoid kistler, araknoid membran ile çevrili beyin omurilik sıvı koleksiyonudur. Genellikle asemptomatiktir fakat nadiren, çoğunlukla da travma sonrası, büyüme veya intrakistik kanamaya bağlı olarak semptomatik olabilir. Bu olguda kafa travması öyküsü olan 25 yaşındaki bir erkek hastada altta yatan araknoid kist ile ilişkili gelişen intrakistik kanama ve subdural hematom olgusu sunulmuştur. Travma öncesi ve sonrası elde edilen manyetik rezonans görüntüleri karşılaştırılmıştır.

Arachnoid cysts are cerebrospinal fluid collections surrounded by the arachnoid membrane. They are usually asymptomatic but they can rarely become symptomatic due to enlargement or intracystic hemorrhage which is a rare entity and mostly occurs after trauma. In this case, we present a 25-year-old man with a history of head trauma who developed subdural and intracystic hemorrhage associated with an underlying arachnoid cyst while comparing the MR images obtained before and after trauma.
