Fıtık onarımında sentetik materyallerin karın içi yapışıklıklara etkisi
Karın duvarında meydana gelen fıtıkların onarımında Sepramesh (genzyme) kullanımının karın içi organlara yapışıklıklarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla çalışma planlandı. Bu çalışmada 30 adet sıçan 3 gruba ayrılarak karınla-rında defekt oluşturuldu. Birinci grupta primer onarım, ikinci grupta prolen (polypropylene) mesh ile üçüncü grupta ise sepramesh kullanılarak onarım yapıldı. Postoperatif 10. günde sıçanlar sakrifiye edilerek karın içi yapışıklıklar değerlendirildi. Karın içi yapışıklıklar açısından tüm gruplar değerlendi-rildiğinde, kontrol grubu ile prolen mesh grubu karşılaştırıldığında prolen mesh grubunda yapışıklık daha fazlaydı (p
The effect of synthetic materials on intraabdominal adhesions in hernia repair
To evaluate the organ adhesions after the use of synthetic grafts in the procedures for the repair of abdominal wall hernias. Thirty rats in 3 groups were subjected to abdominal wall defects. The first group received primary repair, the second group received repair with polypropylene mesh and the last group received repair with genzyme (Sepramesh®) as the treatment. On the day 10 postoperatively, the rats were sacrified and evaluated for intraabdominal adhesions. Regarding the intraabdominal adhesions, comparing the control and prolen mesh groups revealed a higher incidence of adhesions in the prolen mesh group (p<0.0001) but there was no difference between the control and sepramesh group. We also found that there was a lower incidence of adhesions in sepramesh group in contrast to prolen mesh group (p<0.001). It is well known that intraabdominal adhesions may result in postoperative morbidity. The use of less adhesioncausing material in the treatment of abdominal wall hernias should be preferred to prevent the future possible complications.
