Türkiye’de İşsizlik ve Ekonomik Büyüme İlişkisi

Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ekonomisinin işsizlik oranı ile ekonomik büyümesi arasındaki ilişkiyi Okun yasası kapsamında irdelemektir. Çalışmada analize tabii tutulan veriler üçer aylık olup 2005:01-2020:03 dönemini kapsamaktadır. Ampirik analizde Okun yasasının açık versiyonu kullanılmıştır. Açık serileri 8 alternatif yöntem kapsamında üretilmiş ve her bir seri Okun regresyon denkleminde ayrı ayrı kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları Türkiye ekonomisinde Okun yasasının geçerli olduğunu göstermiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, reel gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla açığı % 1 arttığında işsizlik açığı filtrelemeye bağlı olarak 0.130 ile 0.301 puan arasında azalmaktadır. Türkiye’de reel gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla, doğal işsizlik oranı üzerindeki her % 1’lik işsizlik oranına karşılık potansiyel reel gayri safi yurtiçi hasıladan % 0.38 ile % 0.85 kadar düşük olacaktır.
