BÜYÜME İLE HARCAMA ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN ARDL EŞ-BÜTÜNLEŞME VE GRANGER NEDENSELLİK TESTLERİ İLE ANALİZİ: TÜRKİYE ÜZERİNE KANITLAR

Çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de kamu harcaması ile büyüme arasındaki ilişkiyi ampirik yöntemlerle incelemek ve ilişkinin yönünü belirlemektir. Analiz 1980-2016 yıllarını kapsamaktadır. Ampirik yöntem olarak ARDL Auto Regressive Distrubuted Lag Models Eş-bütünleşme Yöntemi ve Granger Nedensellik Testi uygulanmaktadır. ARDL Eş-bütünleşme analizinden elde edilen bulgulara göre, kamu harcaması ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemli ilişki bulunmaktadır. Granger Nedensellik Testi’ne göre, kamu harcamasından ekonomik büyümeye tek yönlü nedensellik tespit edilmektedir. Sonuçlar, incelenen dönemde Keynesyen görüşü desteklemektedir.

ANALYSIS OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GROWTH AND EXPENDITURE WITH ARDL CO-INTEGRATİON AND GRANGER CAUSALITY TESTS: EVIDENCE ON TURKEY

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between public expenditure and growth in Turkey with empirical methods and to determine the direction of the relationship. The analysis covers the years 1980-2016. As empirical method, ARDL Auto Regressive Distrubuted Lag Models Co-integration Method and Granger Causality Test are applied. According to findings from the ARDL Co-integration analysis, there is a long-run relationship between public spending and economic growth. According to the Granger Causality Test, one-way causality is determined from public expenditure to economic growth. The results support the Keynesian view in the period studied.
