COVID-19 Salgınının Sağlık Çalışanlarının Mental Sağlık Durumuna Etkisi

Dünya genelinde yaşanan COVID-19 salgını binlerce insanın ölümüne yol açmakla kalmamış, aynı zamanda insanların mental sağlıklarını da tehdit eder hale gelmiştir. Salgın gibi olağanüstü durumlarda sağlık çalışanları insanlığa hizmet etmek gibi nedenlerle manevi doyum sağlamaktadır ancak aynı zamanda bakım verdiği hastaların hastalık sürecine eşlik etme, onların acılarına şahit olma, yaşanan belirsizlik, çaresizlik, yalnızlık ve korku mental sağlık sorunlarına da yol açmaktadır. Bu değişiklikler ve salgın, psikiyatrik hastalıkları tetikleyebilir, kötüleştirebilir ve bakım verenlerin yaşadığı zorlukları arttırabilir. Öte yandan mental sağlık, çalışanların çalışma verimini ve sorun çözme yeteneklerini etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada, COVID-19 salgınının sağlık çalışanlarının mental sağlık durumuna etkisinin literatür doğrultusunda değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Mental Health Status of Healthcare Professionals

The COVID-19 epidemic worldwide has not only caused the death of thousands of people, but has also become a threat to people's mental health. In extraordinary situations such as epidemics, health workers provide spiritual satisfaction for reasons such as serving humanity. However, accompanying the disease process of the patients he cares for, witnessing their pain, uncertainty, helplessness, loneliness and fear also cause mental health problems. These changes and the epidemic can trigger and worsen psychiatric illnesses and increase the difficulties experienced by caregivers.On the other hand, mental health affects the working efficiency and problem-solving abilities of employees. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the mental health status of healthcare workers in line with the literature.
