AN OVERVIEW OF MERRILL COMPONENT DISPLAY THEORY
Component Display Theory is a theory that is needed in the evaluation of instructional design. Based on Gagne's teaching theory, Component Display Theory, based on behavioral, cognitive, and humanitarian theories, makes experiments involving method components, such as certain successes of specific outputs, in specific situations. For this purpose, it elaborates the cell components by associating concepts, processes and principles with cognitive thinking levels. In planning the teaching, the writing of the objectives and the choice of the vehicle are carried out in accordance with the cell component. In addition, the theory aims to facilitate implementation by presenting the practitioner with primary and secondary forms of presentation. In addition, The fact that the experimental support of the theory has a widespread basis means that both experimental and real research can be carried out, thus ensuring that the practitioner benefits from this theory. One of the features of Component Display Theory is that it is based on which model is used when it is used. Like many previous theories, Component Display Theory model is based on objectives or specific objectives. But unlike other theories, it classifies Component Display Theory objects in two dimensions: the types of content (events, concepts, principles, procedures) and the desired performance stage with the content. (recall, use and discovery). As in the field of cognitive strategy. another very important feature of Component Display Theory is 'learning control'. Component Display Theory is an easy way for learners to choose strategy components and shape instruction at the choice of strategy components that best suit the capabilities in the instant case and the capabilities they have in the permanent personalities they possess. In this way, learning not only makes the needs of the learners easier by making them completely individual, but at the same time the student also teaches precious learning strategies that emerge in a less stereotyped learning environment. In this study, it is aimed to give detailed explanations and examples about the Component Display Theory, which is rarely mentioned in the literature, in order to be a guide to the practitioners.
